Location and time:

Germany, Berlin, 01-11-1895

Das Boxende Känguruh (also known as Boxing Kangaroo) is an 1895 German short black-and-white silent documentary film directed and produced by Max Skladanowsky. The film features a Kangaroo boxing against a man (Mr Delaware). The fight takes place against a white background at the Circus Busch. It was produced in a 35 mm format and is 18 feet in length. Max Skladanowsky (April 30, 1863 – November 30, 1939) was a German inventor and early filmmaker. Along with his brother Emil, he invented the Bioskop, an early movie projector the Skladanowsky brothers used to display the first moving picture show to a paying audience on November 1, 1895, some two months before the public debut of the Lumière Brothers' technically superior Cinématographe.
